"The Sweet Minute": Funky New Orleans 2nd-line groove for 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar (opt), bass, drums. Written as a piano feature, but the solo could easily work in any part (separate solo changes are included for concert, Bb, and Eb instruments). The solo is over just a couple of scales (provided). There is a lengthy collective blowing section for the trombones that starts with a trombones & drum break-down and then thickens as other instrument layers are added over time.
"Your Silence Will Not Protect You" – ballad, feature for tenor sax (1 chorus) and flugel/trumpet 4 (1/2 chorus), but the flugel solo also works as a piano solo. The changes are challenging, but if you have a good tenor soloist, it's a nice feature.
